The Culture War Is Lost Again

Now economics is trumping culture, as states, which allow gay marriage, are seeing an increase in tourism as gay couples decide to tie the knot. The National Organization for Marriage, or NOM--short for NOM, NOM, NOM--tried to scare voters recently with stormy weather moving in, but lack of food, clothing, and shelter moving in, has caused many conservatives to rethink the whole gay marriage thing.

It seems that at the core of every Republican is a greedy bastard, just waiting to knock out the Baby Jesus holding him in, and break free and cash in on any new income stream they can find. We have seen it before in the Bible belt, discovering that sin is in, and that you can get an extra buck by creating a Pole Tax--literally, taxing strippers poles.

Now there is cash to be in had in all those gay wedding, gay receptions, gay honeymoons, and eventually, gay divorces. If there is one thing we Republicans like more than faking a love of Jesus and stealing elections, it's making lots and lots of money.

The push in on in states like New York, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Maine, and Hawaii to cash in on the whole "gay is the new black" thing. And it won't be long until the largest economy in the country, and the seventh largest in the world, decides that gay marriage money is just too important to leave up to voters.

By the end of the year, I see gay marriage in most of the Northeast--with the exception of Virginia and Pennsylvania, which can't decide what century they live in (thank you very much you freakin' Amish). I also believe we will see it in the Pacific West and Hawaii. And once the cash is out of the bag, it will only be a matter of time before Minnesota and Wisconsin join the gay money parade.

With the pressure on, and with GM going belly up, the good folk of Michigan will have to rethink their 2004 vote outlawing gay marriage. If they can turn Ann Arbor and Interlocken into even bigger gay havens, they may actually see a reduction in their deficit and a return to the good times in the Motor Cities.

And then what will we Republicans use to scare idiots into voting against their own best interests and for us? I'm telling you, this is the end of civilization--Republican Civilization.

Don't worry, Blanca. Once Obama turns the economy around, people will care about stories like 'Plan B to 17 yr olds' again.

Gay is the new black has two meanings:

1. Black as in fashion, meaning it is trendy and goes with everything.

2. Black as in African American. The point at which gays are right now is similar to where African Americans were in the late 1950's and early 1960's.

Republicans will latch onto anything that will either:

A. Make money
B. Get the elected

NOM is actually short for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

You'd think the Republicans would be smart enough to distance themselves from the Kolobites, but I suppose what with all these gays and Blacks running around like they're full citizens, beggars can't really be choosers, can they?

If the media were to ever tell the truth about gay marriage, public opinion would change.

Homosexuals know this, so they are working hard to get laws on the books that will do away with any later shift in public opinion.

Besides, where does the concept of marriage begin? The Bible.

“For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh” (Gen. 2:24; Matt. 19:4–6). In biblical terms, marriage has always been between one man and one woman.

Homosexual marriage is a square peg in a round hole. It does not fit.

Actually, if you look at the shape of the peg and the hole...never mind. You're to busy regurgitating pre-packaged conservative crap to think that was funny anyway.

Is the gay community hypocritical?

"In California, one of the gayest places on the map, blacks and Hispanics - who disproportionately disapprove of same-sex marriage - get a stunning pass from outraged proponents of gay marriage."

"Since 9/11, the highly organized gay left has also been deafeningly silent on Islam's anti-modern approach to homosexuality - let alone same-sex unions. The mullahs in Iran somehow get a major pass while the director of the California Musical Theatre in Sacramento is targeted for ruin. This contradiction is not subtle. Indeed, it's obvious and pathetic."

"In fact, in the beauty contest that was the 2008 presidential race, Barack Obama - the left's hand-tailored candidate and an icon of "hope" in the gay community - like his vice president, Joseph R. Biden Jr., shares Miss California's stance on gay marriage."

"I'm a Christian," Mr. Obama told the Chicago Tribune. "And so, although I try not to have my religious beliefs dominate or determine my political views on this issue, I do believe that tradition and my religious beliefs say that marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman."

"Why the pass, fellas?"
