An Open Letter to Representative Virginia Foxx, Republican from the Fifth Congressional District of North Carolina

Dear Representative Foxx:

Let me be the first to thank you for the courage you showed standing in the well of the House and deriding the evil Hate Crimes Legislation. It must be very hard to stand up for your convictions, no matter how insane or absurd. I thought Michelle Bachmann was a tough act to follow, but, baby, you knocked her right out of the ring.

It must have taken a lot of fortitude to stand before the nation and proclaim that a young man, savagely beaten for his sexuality, was nothing more than the victim of a robbery gone wrong. I mean even with all the police reports and the confessions of the killers contradicting your "view" on events, you stood fast and strong. It's that kind of dedication which keeps us Republicans denying evolution and global warming and being the Party of No.

If you closed your eyes listening to your speech, you could almost forget the plaintive screams and the unbelievable agony Matthew must have endured in the 18 hours he was tied to a fence. Listening to your dismissal of his pain, almost made me forget the torture his parents experienced as they watched their son die in a hospital before his life had even begun. You are a true American.

Now that you have exposed the Matthew Shepherd hoax, I urge you now to expose some other terrible hoaxes, which unfortunately, have been taken as fact.

That whole slavery thing is just bunk. No one can prove millions of Africans were abducted from their homeland, shoved into ships in chains, and sold like cattle in the United States. You just can't prove it. I dare you to find it written down anywhere.

And while we're at it, the Holocaust just doesn't exist. I mean to kill 6,000,000 Jews, there would have to be something like Antisemitism in the world, and we know that there is no such thing as hatred of Jews. Like Global Warming, it is a lie perpetrated by the evil Jews who run the world.

And who can forget the lies of political genocide in places like the Soviet Union, Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and the Sudan? It just makes you sick how some people are able to doctor photographs, films, evidence, eye witnesses, etc. just to promote a fiction.

All of us real Americans are completely against the Hate Crimes Bill. It is a bill designed to make hateful acts a crime. And that is just un-American. Where would we be in the country without our gay, Polock, and black jokes? It isn't racist to yell the N word out your car in a black neighborhood. And it certainly isn't a crime to beat up some gay guy.

Thank you for making hatred a family value again!

For your undying devotion to your party and country, I would like to invite you into a very exclusive club. Not just anyone can join. It is by invitation only, and we only let the best and the brightest in. The name of this club is the Conservatives United for Non Truths. Some of its members are Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, Melanie Morgan, Michelle Bachmann, and that blonde bitch from "Fox and Friends."

Now since you are new, you of course cannot be the head of Conservatives United for Non Truths, but rest assured, if you continue to do work like this, you can place the letters C.U.N.T. on your business card, and proudly declare you are the biggest C.U.N.T. around.

Sincerely,

Blanca DeBree

She is a complete and total lying sack of shit. You might like a similar piece I wrote about Richard Burr that just went up tonight.

If you murder somebody and get convicted you're going to jail or getting the death penalty. There is a crime (murder) and a punishment (jail or death penalty) already on the books. There does not need to be a second level of punishment when the first level will already cover it. Whether somebody was gay or purple the punishment is already determined by the intent (manslaughter, 1st degree murder, 2nd degree murder, etc...). The rest is just feel good BS that serves no purpose except to add more laws to the books. Enforce existing laws.

Harrison,

What about an extremist group which targets let's say a Jewish school. They go into preparations, start the planning, but, thankfully, can never carry out the crime because they are discovered. Existing laws might get them some jail time, but using a hate crime law, could get them serious time in jail. Don't you think then this kind of legislation serves it's purpose?

Let me ask another question: what is the fear so many on the right have over the Hate Crime Bill? Obviously it has nothing to do with free speech or religion. Abortion is legal, yet churches can call it a sin, and people are free to walk around carrying signs calling it murder. What is the real fear here?

I think I know. You fear you can't yell fag or nigger or kike anymore and get away with it. You fear that your little white dominated world is coming to an end. Well I have news for you. It did, on November 4, 2008. America is changing, and, you cannot stop it. You are powerless against it, and like the tea bagger who made an appearance on Fox News saying "we don't want the change, you can keep the change" you don't know what to do.

Let me tell you a little story. I have an aunt, 82 years young. The woman still uses the word "colored" to refer to black people. She is deeply religious. She is kind of sad this country has become more secular. She probably wishes she could turn back the clock to a simpler time.

She voted for a black man for the first time in her life last year.

If an old woman can change, so can you, and so can the rest. Yours is the attitude which is leading the Republican party down the road to extinction.

@blanca hell my own grandmother said colored...and I almost passed out! lol while it's wonderful ur beautiful grandmother opened her mind to think outside of the box...it's sad, disheartening and scary as hell that these extremists are in positions of power-regardless of their political affiliation!!

oooh..Blanca, you did not let me down! I was very anxious to know what you might have to say about this.

We have a hate crimes bill/law in Canada, and even though some folks may laugh at us...we are grateful for it.

My beloved sister is gay, and if someone were talking about her the way Foxx was talking about Matthew, I would want to strangle her. My heart broke for his mother.

Well said...again.

Harrison I just now read your post.

The hate crimes laws are for BEFORE something happens. Its all well and good to punish someone after the fact, but are you not even remotely afraid or worried about some of the things people are permitted to get away with? In the name of free speech?

It SHOULD NOT be ok to abuse someone, or a group of someones based on race, religion, sexuality or anything else.

We have a native canadian leader who just recently lost his "order of Canada" medal. He publicly stated the holocaust did not happen. Now...we know it did happen Harrison. He lied...he stoked the fires of unhealthy beligerent people. He needed to be held accountable for that.

Blanca, There is nothing I love more than a woman who stands up for the rest of us C.U.N.T.S.

You forever have my undying support and admiration. No Kidding.OBTW You Know We've Moved, Right ?

My "little white dominated world"? How do you know anything about "my world"? That is a very racist and ignorant statement on your part.

And let's say a school of pink 3 legged school kids was the target of a bomber and you catch and put the bad guy(s) away for an extra 5 years because he had it in for pink 3 legged school kids. Let's say another guy has it in for regular school kids and gets caught and goes away for 5 fewer years because those kids are not the members of a "protected group." I guess you are comfortable telling all of those parents that the lives of their kids don't warrant extra jail time for their kids because they weren't members of a special class? Therefore your conclusion is that the lives of SOME people are worth more than the lives of OTHERS. See, my narrow and close-minded view is that ALL human life is worth the SAME but maybe I have my priorities wrong?

My "attitude" has nothing to to with change it has to do with logic.

So please answer my question above logically and refrain from personal attacks as it only makes you look small and closed minded (which, ironically, you accuse me of being but I think I've shown this to be untrue).

Blanca DeBree said...

Here's the problem with your logic, Harrison.

If we have hate crime legislation to protect sexual minorities, then we are creating a special class. You value all like, equally, right?

So then we should have gay marriage, right?

Harrison said...

You have tried to change the subject. The subject is "hate crimes" not gay marriage.

Please answer my question first:

"I guess you are comfortable telling all of those parents that the lives of their kids don't warrant extra jail time for their kids because they weren't members of a special class? Therefore your conclusion is that the lives of SOME people are worth more than the lives of OTHERS."

Blanca DeBree said...

So by your logic, burning a cross on someone's lawn should be treated the same as burning a pile of dog shit?

And I guess spray painting swastikas on a synagogue is the same as tagging a church wall with your initials.

And hanging a noose in front of someone's house is the same as toilet papering a tree.

No one denies the value of life, but all we are saying is that some acts are deliberately meant to menace based upon a person's race, religion, orientation, or handicap. To act all indignant that we somehow are being cavalier about life is to obfuscate the need for this legislation.

Once again, Bianca, you've taken something out of context and have gone over the top with your analysis.

Whatever floats your boat...

Blanca DeBree said...

@Anonymous 7:48:

Yes, indeed it is I who has gone over the top.

Maybe you would be more comfortable on a different blog. I hear Hot Nazi Sluts is a good site.

Harrison said...

Ok so let's analyze this... some people are more entitled to things than others. So if I'm gay and get beat up b/c of it I'm entitled to "more justice" than if I'm a stay at home white heterosexual mom who gets beat up?

That is completely illogical.

And you dodged my point about the guy trying to kill pink 3 legged school children vs. regular school children and how, by your logic, the first group is entitled to more justice than the second...

The LAW is the LAW and it should apply to EVERYONE EQUALLY this is how you obtain a JUST society.

I'm really pleased that I do not yet live in a country such as you advocate.

You have a heart to feel with and a brain to think with... do not confuse the two please.

I think if you analyize my logic you will see that it is consistent.

Blanca DeBree said...

Harrison,

The only thing consistent is your ability to spew talking points from Rush Limbaugh.

I am not going to address idiotic memes about three legged school children. What I will address is the need for the law.

The Hate Crimes Bill permits the federal government to intercede, when the local governments are unable or unwilling to prosecute crimes, which are meant to attack not just an individual but an entire group of people.

Blacks have been protected by previous hate crime legislation. There have been cases where attacks against blacks have been ignored by the local authorities. This legislation permits the federal authorities to step in and use their resources to bring the perpetrators to justice.

In short, the government is there to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority.

And before you go and shovel more of your shit about majority rules, if you asked the majority if they thought interracial marriages were ok, most would have said no. Not fifty years ago, but even now in many locations in this country.

You know what, I really don't have time to talk sense to an idiot like you. I enjoy discourse, but discourse needs to be a free exchange of ideas and not just your freeper madness.

Maybe you should just skip my blog and hang out at with the ones who claim Obama was born in Kenya and that the FEMA re-education camps are coming.

I have to deal with dick heads like you in my job all the time. I refuse to deal with them on my R&R time.

Blanca out.

The prosecutor who prosecuted these crimes says that he never believed it was a hate crime. He believes it was a drug crime.

Yet hate crime advocates who use Mr. Shepard as their ultimate weapon want to overlook the obvious and insist on arguing the unprovable.

When the case that is used to make the case for hate crime law is so fundamentally weak, what does it say about the law's very premise?

Blanca DeBree said...

They targeted him because he was gay. That makes this a hate crime. If I decide to rob blacks, and then in the commission of the robbery I beat them to death or beat them so badly as to cause their death, that is a hate crime.

Once again it appears that people like Mr. Harrison are just afraid of having perpetrators punished for another crime.

I believe it is like the old gun argument, don't make new gun laws, just enforce the ones on the books already. But sometimes you do need new gun laws.

Until society is no longer filled with individuals who insist on compensating for their own inadequacies and situations by hating others, we will have to have hate crimes legislation.
